Ganderbal : Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), J&K,  Athar Aamir Ul Shafi on Friday conducted an extensive monitoring and review visit to premier healthcare institutions in District Ganderbal including District Hospital (DH) Ganderbal and Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM), Pandach, to evaluate the on-ground implementation of national health programs and healthcare delivery standards.

During his visit to District Hospital Ganderbal, the Mission Director inspected key medical units, including the District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC), Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU), High Dependency Unit (HDU), Blood Centre, Dialysis Unit, Pharmacy, and diagnostic laboratories. He also undertook a dedicated site visit to inspect the ongoing construction and operational readiness of the District Integrated Public Health Laboratory (DIPHL) and the Critical Care Block (CCB) being established under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), reviewing its physical progress firsthand.

At Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Pandach, the Mission Director reviewed the delivery of comprehensive 12-package primary healthcare services, emphasizing grassroots service outreach and robust preventive care.

The visit followed a detailed review meeting with the Chief Medical Officer, Ganderbal, the Medical Superintendent, DH Ganderbal, Heads of Departments, the Divisional Nodal Officer for NHM Kashmir, and NHM Programme Managers. Discussions focused on the seamless execution of vital initiatives such as Maternal and Child Health services, RBSK, RKSK, PM-ABHIM, PM-TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, National Ambulance Services (102/108), the DNB postgraduate training program, blood services, and free drug and diagnostic initiatives.

Highlighting the hospital’s operational achievements, the review noted a significant scaling of clinical services, marked by robust institutional deliveries and high outpatient footfalls over the past year. Recently established high-end diagnostic facilities including the CT scan, DEXA Scan, and FibroScan units were evaluated to ensure maximum patient convenience and a reduction in referral burdens.

Furthermore, the Mission Director assessed the functioning of Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF), Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) clinics, and the e-Sahaj online pharmacy management system. He commended the healthcare personnel for their unwavering dedication, successful NQAS certification, and commitment to maintaining high clinical excellence across all departments.
