Camp provides free medical check-ups and consultations to 180 people in Jabri
Srinagar : Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre, in partnership with the Rouble Nagi Art Foundation, conducted a two-day health camp in Jabri village, located near the Line of Control in Kashmir.
The initiative provided free medical check-ups and consultations to 180 local residents, aiming to enhance access to essential healthcare services in a remote area while promoting awareness of preventive healthcare and early diagnosis. During the camp, medical teams performed various health screenings, including assessments of blood pressure, blood glucose levels for diabetes, and anaemia screenings. Specialists from multiple fields, including general medicine, gynaecology, paediatrics, and ENT, offered consultations tailored to the health concerns of the participants. Additionally, the camp included educational sessions addressing dental, ear, nose, mouth, and child-specific health issues, emphasizing the importance of recognizing symptoms and seeking timely medical attention. Rajiv Mehta, a trustee at Lilavati Hospital, emphasized the initiative’s goal of bringing essential healthcare closer to communities with limited access to regular medical facilities. He reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to public health initiatives that prioritize preventive care and healthy lifestyles. Rouble Nagi, founder of the Rouble Nagi Art Foundation, highlighted that community development encompasses overall well-being, and this collaboration aims to improve access to vital medical services for underserved populations. The initiative underscores the ongoing efforts of both organizations to extend healthcare support to remote communities and foster greater awareness of preventive health practices.
