Bandipora : Police on Saturday apprehended two long-wanted absconders who had been evading arrest for 16 years in connection with a cheating and forgery case registered at Police Station Sumbal.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that a police team apprehended the duo from Srinagar during the intervening night of October 23 and 24, 2026. The arrested persons have been identified as Ghulam Nabi Ganie, S/O Ghulam Qadir Ganie, and Misra alias Sarwa, W/O Ghulam Nabi Ganie, residents of Ganj-Lalpora Berua, Budgam, currently residing at Pamposh Colony, Palpora, Srinagar. Both accused were subsequently produced before the Hon’ble Court of JMIC Sumbal for further legal proceedings.
