Poonch : Assistant Commissioner (Development) Poonch Shakeel Ahmed Malik Friday chaired a review meeting of the Rural Development Department. All Block Development Officers (BDOs) attended.

The meeting reviewed the physical and financial progress of works for 2026–27 under DDC, BDC, SSY, ABDP, TSP, CD &Pyt and Capex, along with the flagship programmes VB-G RAM G and PMAY.

The ACD expressed satisfaction with the overall progress. Under the SOS component, 136 of 137 works under DDC and 202 of 209 works under TSP have been completed, with expenditure at 77 per cent and 96 per cent of released funds respectively. Most works under CD &Pyt have also been completed.

The ACD directed the BDOs to speed up works under the new components, complete pending works within the stipulated timeframe and ensure timely utilisation of funds and submission of bills. He asked them to give special attention to VB-G RAM G and PMAY so that employment and housing benefits reach eligible beneficiaries without delay, and stressed quality, transparency and accountability in execution.

The BDOs briefed the Chair on the status of works in their blocks and assured that all targets would be met on time.
