Jammu | Oct, 23:The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Jammu, Friday inaugurated the Saturation Campaign for re-KYC and Financial Inclusion (FI) Schemes at GurhaSinghu, Shamachak, at 11:30 am. The nationwide campaign, being undertaken on the directions of the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India, and the RBI, will run from October 21 to December 31, 2026. It aims to strengthen financial inclusion by facilitating re-KYC, C-KYC, nomination facilities, access to social security schemes and awareness of digital frauds.

RBI Jammu Regional Director Prabhakar Jha inaugurated the campaign. Among those present were RBI Deputy General Managers Vibha Gupta and Ram Saroop, J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) Chairman Lalit Prakash, J&K Bank (JKB) General Manager Ashok Gupta, JKB Deputy General Manager Chandrika Parihar, JKB Cluster Head Nidhi Jamwal, SBI Assistant General Manager (Lead Bank, Jammu District) Chander Mohan Bhat and RBI officers and officials.

Addressing the gathering, the Regional Director said completing re-KYC formalities is necessary to ensure the continued availability of banking services and smooth operation of bank accounts. Mr Jha also spoke on the role of social security schemes in providing financial protection to beneficiaries and improving their lives.

GurhaSinghu, Shamachak, a prominent landmark that attracts lakhs of visitors and devotees during the Baba JittoJhiri Mela, can serve as an effective platform for spreading financial awareness to a large audience.

The public has been requested to complete re-KYC for their accounts with their latest address and identity proof by visiting the nearest bank branch or Business Correspondent during the campaign period.

JKB GurhaSinghu organised the camp in coordination with UTLBC J&K, the JKB FI Team and the LDM Office, Jammu.
