Free medicines, assistive devices distributed under Operation Sadbhavana
Basantgarh : Around 600 patients registered for medical assistance on the first day of a two-day mega medical camp organised by the Indian Army at Government Higher Secondary School, Basantgarh, in Doda district under Operation Sadbhavana on Saturday.
The camp was organised to provide free healthcare services and specialised medical consultations to residents of remote and underserved areas.
A team of medical professionals offered consultations in general medicine, ophthalmology, dentistry, cardiology, respiratory care and ear, nose and throat (ENT) services. Special attention was given to elderly people, women and children.
Free medicines were distributed among beneficiaries, while wheelchairs, crutches, walkers and hearing aids were provided to needy patients according to their medical requirements.
The camp also facilitated the early identification of health concerns and provided guidance on preventive healthcare and further treatment wherever required.
The initiative aimed to improve access to healthcare for residents of remote villages, many of whom face difficulties travelling long distances to access medical facilities.
Local residents appreciated the Army’s efforts to provide medical assistance and improve healthcare accessibility in the area.
The second day of the camp will be held on October 18, extending medical services to more residents of Basantgarh and adjoining villages.
The initiative is part of the Indian Army’s efforts under Operation Sadbhavana to support community welfare and strengthen civil-military relations in remote areas.
