Four-Member Panel To Investigate Alleged Medical Negligence
Srinagar | October, 16: The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) has constituted a four-member committee to investigate the death of a pregnant woman from Gurez in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Officials said Haseena Begum, wife of Showkat Ahmad Lone and a resident of Mazgund village in Tulail, died on October 14. The probe panel, headed by Deputy Director Schemes Dr. Saba Wani, has been directed to submit its findings within five days to determine if medical negligence occurred.
Reports said the woman was shifted to District Hospital Bandipora on Wednesday morning after developing severe pregnancy complications, where her baby was born stillborn. She had initially been taken to a primary health center in Sheikhpora on Tuesday night, but no medical staff was available. She was then taken to Sub-District Hospital Gurez before being referred to Bandipora due to low blood levels.
