Kupwara | October, 16: A 45-year-old passenger died while the driver was critically injured after their vehicle lost control and plunged off the road in the Zab Khurhama area of Lolab in Kupwara district on Friday.
Officials said the vehicle, bearing registration number JK05C-4886, skidded off the roadway, trapping both occupants. Rescuers evacuated the duo to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sogam, where attending doctors declared the passenger brought dead on arrival.
The deceased was identified as Bashir Ahmad Khatana (45), a local resident of Zab Khurhama. The injured driver, identified as Ifrooz Ahmad Chouhan, is undergoing treatment, and police have commenced a formal probe.
