Shopian : Police on Wednesday seized three dumpers and one tipper involved in unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals across Shopian district.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Police said that during routine patrolling, a team from Police Post Berthipora intercepted and seized one dumper and one tipper engaged in illegal mineral extraction without valid royalty documents. In this connection a case under FIR No. 106/2026 was registered at Police Station Keller.
In a separate action, a police team from Police Post Wachi intercepted and seized two dumpers operating without mandatory permissions. FIR No. 129/2026 was subsequently registered at Police Station Zainapora.
In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to protect natural resources and warned that strict legal action would continue against illegal mining operations.
