Srinagar | Oct,10:Chief Justice High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Dr. Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhati, today interacted with judicial officers in the Conference Hall of the District Court Complex, Srinagar, and later attended a felicitation programme organised by the Kashmir Advocates Association.
During his meeting with judicial officers, the Chief Justice underscored the need to carry out judicial duties with courage, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to the rule of law. He pointed out how crucial the judiciary is in protecting citizens’ rights, ensuring everyone has access to justice, and maintaining public trust in the justice system. The Chief Justice emphasized that a sense of collective responsibility, mutual trust, and harmony within institutions is key to enhancing the effectiveness of our courts. He encouraged judicial officers to collaborate, uphold the highest standards of conduct, and create a peaceful and supportive work environment. He expressed his appreciation for the professionalism and dedication of the judicial officers in the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, highlighting the importance of ongoing learning and mentorship from senior judges. At the beginning of the event, Naseer Ahmad Dar, the Principal District and Sessions Judge of Srinagar, welcomed the Chief Justice on behalf of the district’s judicial officers. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage and reaffirmed the District Judiciary’s commitment to delivering quality adjudication, resolving cases promptly, and reducing backlog. Later, the Kashmir Advocates Association hosted a felicitation event at the District Court Complex in Srinagar to honor the Chief Justice. During the event, Adv. Waseem Gul, President of the Kashmir Advocates Association, warmly welcomed the Chief Justice on behalf of the legal community and also greeted the newly appointed Principal District and Sessions Judge of Srinagar. He highlighted the District Court’s role as the first point of access to justice for everyday citizens and stressed the importance of a constructive partnership between the Bench and the Bar. He assured the Chief Justice of their full support in enhancing the administration of justice and sought his guidance on future initiatives.
