MLA Shopian reviews Tourism Development Works

Kullay conducts extensive Field Inspection of Bohrihalan, Dubjan, Peer Ki Gali

 

Shopian : Member Legislative Assembly (M LA)  Shopian, Shabir Ahmad Kullay, Wednesday  chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Tourist Reception Centre (TRC), Bohrihalan to assess the progress of ongoing and proposed tourism development works in the district and to strengthen inter-departmental coordination for their timely execution.

During the meeting, the MLA reviewed the status of ongoing and newly proposed tourism projects, addressing various issues, challenges and bottlenecks affecting their execution. He emphasized the critical need for close coordination among all concerned departments and directed officers to work in a time-bound manner to ensure the prompt completion of tourism-related infrastructure.

Furthermore, the Forest and Wildlife Departments were instructed to expedite necessary permissions and clearances to ensure the smooth execution of developmental works.

Chief Executive Officer, Shopian- Dubjan-Peer Ki Gali Tourism Development Authority (TDA, SDPKG),

Executive Engineer PW(R&B) Division Shopian, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Division Shopian, Executive Engineer Electric Division Shopian, Divisional Forest Officer (Territorial) Shopian, Tehsildar Shopian, Tehsildar Keller, Executive Officer Municipal Council Shopian and Assistant Tourist Officer Shopian attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, Kullay also conducted extensive field inspection of major tourist destinations, including Bohrihalan, Dubjan and Peer Ki Gali.

Officers  including, CEO, TDA, SDPKG and other officers were accompanying the MLA during the  visit.

The MLA highlighted that coordinated efforts by all concerned departments are essential to harness the district’s rich tourism potential, boost visitor facilities and generate sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities.

The inspection focused on reviewing the status of ongoing works, assessing site-specific requirements and exploring the scope for new tourism initiatives in these areas.
