DC Kulgam reviews progress of  HADP, JKCIP in district

Jammu : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad AlamWednesday  chaired a meeting at Mini Secretariat Kulgam to review the implementation and progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP).

The meeting reviewed the achievements and progress of ongoing projects across Agriculture and allied sectors under the schemes with focus on timely completion and delivery of benefits to farmers and other beneficiaries.

Under Agriculture, progress on seed multiplication, niche and exotic crops, protected cultivation, medicinal and aromatic plants, beekeeping, nutri-cereals, farm mechanization, mushroom cultivation, oilseeds and Integrated Farming Systems was reviewed.

The DC also reviewed interventions under Animal and Sheep Husbandry, including dairy and poultry units, fodder development, commercial sheep farming, sheep sheds, breed-based units, pre-fabricated huts and other livestock-related activities.

Progress under Horticulture Planning & Marketing and Fisheries, including trout raceways, RAS units, biofloc and carp ponds, was also discussed.

The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure target completion within each department, set for the current year with effective utilization of funds.

The meeting was attended by Chief Agriculture Officer Kulgam, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Sericulture Officer, Area Marketing Officer HP&M, Assistant Director Fisheries, Lead District Manager Kulgam, Project Coordinators of KVK Pombay and KVK Khudwani and other concerned officers.
