Srinagar|Oct, 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed 2021-batch IAS officer Mamta Yadav as the new Director of Information, J&K, as part of a major administrative reshuffle ordered by the General Administration Department on Wednesday.
Yadav, an IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, was awaiting orders of posting in the General Administration Department before being assigned the Information Department.
She succeeds M Shreya Singhal, IAS (AGMUT: 2020), who had been holding additional charge of Director Information. Singhal has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal.
Yadav was transferred to the Jammu and Kashmir segment of the AGMUT cadre in July 2026. Before her posting to J&K, she served as Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Najafgarh, under the Government of NCT of Delhi.
The reshuffle, covering IAS and JKAS officers, was notified through General Administration Department Order No. 1612 dated October 7
Yadav will now head the Information Department, which is responsible for government communication, media coordination and dissemination of official information across Jammu and Kashmir.
