New Delhi : India’s 2026 Asian Games campaign has been marked by a series of historic firsts, breakthrough medals across disciplines and landmark performances by established stars as well as debutants.
SuchikaTariyal created history in MMA by winning India’s first-ever Asian Games medal in the women’s Traditional -60kg category. Jay Meena secured India’s first Asian Games medal in soft tennis with bronze in the men’s singles event.
Shooting produced several historic milestones. Maheshwari Chauhan, Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Raiza Dhillon won India’s first Asian Games medal in the women’s skeet team event, while Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Anantjeet Singh Naruka secured the country’s first medal in the skeet mixed team event.

In boxing, Priya won bronze in the women’s 60kg category and Ankush won gold in the men’s 80kg event. Wrestling debutants Nitesh Kumar and Sujeet Kalkal won silver and gold respectively in their events.
Bobby Kumar, BangamLokhon Singh and Ram Kumar Sharma won bronze as members of India’s men’s quadrant sepaktakraw team.
