ADC Sopore visits Khushal Stadium; reviews Sports Activities, Facilities

Baramulla : Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore, Dr S.A. Raina Thursday  visited Khushal Stadium Sopore to interact with young athletes, review ongoing sports activities and assess the sports facilities at the stadium.

During the visit, the ADC observed that some poplar trees had been planted at the stadium premises, which could otherwise be utilised for parking, particularly during major sporting events. He observed that the plantation appeared to be an encroachment and directed the Sports Officer to look into the matter and take necessary action.

The ADC also checked the attendance of the staff at the office of the Sports Officer and reviewed the functioning of the sports-related activities.

Interacting with players from Anantnag and Pulwama, Dr. Raina appreciated their dedication, enthusiasm and sportsmanship. He stressed the administration’s commitment to nurturing sporting talent and improving sports infrastructure to provide better facilities to young athletes.

He highlighted the importance of sports in building character, promoting a healthy lifestyle and keeping youth away from social evils, including drug addiction. He also advised the players to pursue their studies diligently and maintain a proper balance between academics and sports.

The players expressed gratitude to the ADC for his encouragement and for taking interest in the development of sports facilities at Khushal Stadium.
