Srinagar | Sep, 28: Fresh snowfall was recorded over the Affarwat peak in Gulmarg as light rain and thundershowers lashed several parts of Jammu and Kashmir, bringing a cooler spell across the Union Territory. Weather officials said the fresh snowfall added to the wintry charm of the resort, while cloud cover and showers prevailed in multiple places during the day.
Gulmarg recorded a maximum temperature of 20.8°C and a minimum of 5.5°C, while Srinagar registered 29.8°C and 11.5°C. In the Jammu division, Jammu city recorded a maximum of 31.4°C, with ARG Bakore receiving the highest rainfall at 16.5 mm. Officials forecast dry conditions until October 3, followed by light rain and high-altitude snow between October 4 and 6, advising farmers to harvest and safely store crops.
