DC Kulgam reviews Action Plans for Youth Empowerment, Emphasizes max outreach

Kulgam| Sept, 28:Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad AlamMonday chaired a meeting to review the department-wise Action Plans for Youth Empowerment for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 at the Mini-Secretariat, Kulgam.
During the meeting, the DC reviewed the proposed activities and programmes of various departments aimed at ensuring sustained, meaningful and structured engagement of youth across the district.
The DC stressed the need for maximum outreach and a diverse range of youth-oriented programmes, with focus on skill development, entrepreneurship, sports and recreation, innovation, culture, community participation and other areas of relevance to young people.
He directed the concerned departments to schedule programmes to equip youth with skills, enhance their awareness about Government schemes and employment opportunities, and facilitate their participation in various developmental initiatives.
The Deputy Commissioner called for close inter-departmental coordination and directed the departments to schedule a maximum number of meaningful activities and awareness programmes for year 206-27 and 2027-28, ensuring wider participation of youth.
He further emphasized that the proposed activities should be realistic, outcome-oriented and properly planned, with regular monitoring and documentation to ensure effective implementation and wider outreach.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Altaf Ahmad Khan; ACD, Bilal Ahmad Kamgar; CEO, Fayaz Ahmad Mir; CMO, Dr.Showkat Ahmad Parrey; DIO, Showkat Hussain Ganie; CHO, CAO, DSWO, DYSSO, representatives of Degree Colleges and ITIs and other officers of concerned departments.
