Ang | September, 28: Police on Monday arrested five drug peddlers across Shopian, Kulgam, and Anantnag districts, recovering substantial quantities of Ganja, Charas, and Heroin during routine and dynamic checking operations.
In a statement issued here on Monday, Police said that in Shopian, during routine naka checking at Matipora Bridge, a police party from Police Post Berthipora intercepted Feroz Ahmad Wani S/O Gh. Rasool Wani R/O Batamuran, recovering approximately 13.264 Kgs of Ganja-like substance and 4 grams of Charas-like substance from his possession. FIR No. 101/2026 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Keller.
In Kulgam, dynamic naka checking at Shampora Crossing led to the interception of a Tavera (JK01T-4963) driven by Asif Shafi Bhat S/O Mohd Shafi Bhat R/O Gund Chadoora, Budgam, yielding 10 grams of Heroin-like substance (FIR No. 233/2026 at PS Qazigund). In another incident at Khandipairi, Ali S/O Abdul Manan R/O JJ Colony, Delhi, A/P Pazalpora, Bijbehara, was arrested with 6 grams of Heroin-like substance (FIR No. 67/2026 at PS Qaimoh).
In Anantnag, a party from PS Janglatmandi apprehended Aamir Yousuf Khan @ Vicky Gadar S/O Mohd Yousuf Khan R/O Hazratbal with 7.68 grams of Charas-like substance. Meanwhile, Police Post GBS apprehended Tariq Ahmad Khanday S/O Abdul Rehman Khanday R/O Aung at Aung Bridge with 10 grams of Charas-like
