Distinguished alumni share professional experiences, insights with students
Srinagar, :The “Alumni Back to Classroom (ABC)” Programme was successfully conducted today at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, providing a meaningful platform for distinguished alumni to reconnect with their alma mater, interact with students and share their professional experiences, insights and memories.
The Alumni Back to Classroom Programme at NIT Srinagar, organized by the Office of the Dean, Alumni & International Affairs, aimed to strengthen the connection between the Institute and its alumni. Under the leadership of Prof. M. A. Shah and coordinated by Er. Farhan Manzoor Shah, the event featured notable alumni who shared their professional experiences and insights with current students. Among the speakers were Er. Bharat Bhushan and Er. Sundeep Saxena, both from the 1977–82 Mechanical Engineering batch, who emphasized the importance of continuous learning and maintaining ties with one’s alma mater. Dr. Ahmadullah Zahed, associated with ICTP in Italy, encouraged students to pursue excellence and innovation based on his international experiences. Prof. M. A. Shah highlighted the significance of alumni as a source of knowledge and inspiration, noting that such interactions enrich students’ learning beyond traditional academic settings. He expressed gratitude to the alumni for their contributions to the students’ growth. Er. Farhan Manzoor Shah described the programme as a bridge connecting the alumni community with current students, providing opportunities for mentorship and practical insights. He acknowledged the support from the Institute’s administration, faculty, and students, emphasizing the initiative’s goal to foster a vibrant alumni network. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, who engaged actively with the speakers, benefiting from their guidance. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, reinforcing the enduring bond between NIT Srinagar and its alumni while promoting knowledge sharing and intergenerational interaction.
