Traffic Police Issues Advisory For J&K Police Cycle Race-2026
Srinagar, Sep 25: Srinagar Traffic Police on Friday issued a traffic advisory in view of the Cycle Race-2026 being organized by J&K Police on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
As per the advisory, J&K Police is going to organize a Cycle Race-2026 on Sunday, September 27, 2026 on the routes from Lalit Ghat Chowk via Foreshore Road, Lalit Ghat to Harwan via Shalimar. In view of the movement of cyclists on the Boulevard Road Srinagar from Lalit to Pandach, the road will remain closed for general traffic from 06:00 AM to 09:00 AM on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
In order to have smooth movement of traffic and for convenience of general public/motorists, the following traffic advisory has been issued:
All traffic movement on the Boulevard Road from Lalit Ghat till Harwan via Shalimar and Lalit Ghat to Pandach Crossing via Zakoora will be discouraged.
Motorists coming from Harwan / New Theed side are advised to adopt Burzahama via Chandpora – Tailbal – Zakoora – Malbagh – Illahibagh – 90 feet Road and vice versa to reach their respective destinations.
Motorists coming from Ganderbal / Nagbal side towards Lalchowk are advised to adopt 90 feet Soura road and vice versa to reach their destinations.
No traffic shall be allowed from R.M. Bagh Crossing towards Lalit except participants.
People are requested to avoid unnecessary movement on the Boulevard Road from Lalit Ghat till Harwan via Shalimar and Lalit Ghat to Pandach via Zakoora road particularly from 06:00 AM to 09:00 AM in the morning.
No traffic shall be allowed from Badyari towards Lalit Crossing. Similarly, no traffic shall move from Dalgate to Nishat via Badyari to Rainawari onwards. Likewise, no traffic shall be allowed from Nishat to Lal Chowk via Brien P/S Crossing.
Medical emergencies and motorists who are going towards Srinagar Airport will be allowed to move via Foreshore-Dargah-Khanyar Road.
