One-stop digital platform offers legal aid, case tracking, Acts, Rules, court information and AI-enabled assistance
Srinagar | Sept. 22:In a major push to make legal services more accessible, transparent and citizen-friendly, Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo, Tuesday launched the ‘e-Nyaya Sarathi’ web portal and mobile application, providing citizens a unified digital gateway to legal information, judicial resources and government legal services.
The event was attended by senior officers including ACS PWD; Principal Secretary, Home; Principal Secretary, Culture Department; Registrar General, High Court of J&K and Ladakh; Sr. AAG Mohsin Qadri; Member Secretary, J&K State Legal Services Authority; Commissioner Secretary, H&UDD; Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare; Commissioner Secretary, Science & Technology; Commissioner Secretary, Law; Secretary, RDD; Secretary, Legislative Assembly and other officers of the Department of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs and members of the technical development team also attended the launch event.
Developed by the Department of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, the platform brings multiple legal services under one roof, enabling citizens to access essential legal information and services anytime and from anywhere. The initiative seeks to simplify the public’s interaction with the legal system and replace conventional bureaucratic hurdles with a more transparent and digitally accessible service delivery mechanism.
Speaking at the launch, the Chief Secretary described the initiative as a significant step towards citizen-centric digital governance, emphasising that legal services should be accessible, reliable and easy to navigate. He said that e-Nyaya Sarathi would help bridge the gap between citizens and legal institutions by bringing critical legal resources directly to their fingertips.
Giving details about the platform the Commissioner Secretary, Law, Achal Sethi revealed that the portal offers a range of services, including legal aid and pro-bono assistance, a central repository of Acts, Rules, Judgments and Government Notifications, in addition to facilities like ‘Search Your Case’ and ‘Find My Court’ and dedicated modules for Women & Child Development and Advocate Related Matters.
Adding a technology-driven dimension to the initiative, the platform also features an AI-powered chatbot to guide users through legal queries and assist them in navigating various services available on the portal. The integrated framework is aimed at making access to legal information simpler and more responsive, particularly for citizens seeking quick and reliable information.
Moreover it was also apprised that the e-Nyaya Sarathi portal is now available at www.enyayasarathi.jk.gov.in, while its mobile application can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple
