Teacher dismissed under Article 311(2)(b) in Kishtwar POCSO case; Itoo says there will be ‘no compromise, no exceptions’ on child safety
Srinagar, Sept 21: The Jammu and Kashmir government has dismissed Kishtwar government teacher Khalid Hussain from service under Article 311(2)(b) of the Constitution in connection with a case registered under the POCSO Act involving a minor girl, Education Minister Sakeena Itoo said on Monday.
Calling the action a firm response to the case, Itoo said schools are institutions of trust and warned that anyone violating that trust would face the strongest action permissible under law.
“The safety of our children is paramount,” Itoo said in a post on X, adding that the government had acted as committed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
She said the dismissal reflected the government’s commitment to protecting the “safety, dignity and future” of every child.
“Every child deserves a safe school and a secure environment to learn and grow,” the minister said, adding: “No compromise. No exceptions.”
