MVD Rajouri steps up enforcement: 120 vehicles checked, 16 challans issued

Rajouri : :On the directions of Secretary Transport, AvnyLavasa& Transport commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Rajouri conducted an extensive enforcement and inspection drive across the district to ensure compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act and promote road safety.

During the drive, the MVD team, under the supervision of ARTO Rajouri Ashiq Rafiq Malik, checked a total of 120 vehicles and issued 16 challans, imposing a total fine of ₹36,500. The team also recommended suspension of one Driving Licence for violation of traffic rules.

As part of the drive, the MVD team also inspected Pollution under Control Certificate (PUCC) centres and driving schools in Rajouri to verify compliance with prescribed norms and ensure proper functioning of the facilities.

The team further inspected vehicle dealerships and sealed two showrooms, Yamaha and TVS, for operating without the requisite Trade Certificates. The management of the concerned showrooms was directed to apply for the required Trade Certificates and comply with the applicable provisions before resuming such activities.

The enforcement team comprised MVI Lakhvinder Singh Chib, AMVI Nitin Singh and other officials of the Motor Vehicle Department.

The MVD Rajouri reiterated that enforcement and inspection drives will continue to ensure strict compliance with transport regulations and enhance road safety across the district.
