Ganderbal, Sept 18: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday flagged off the annual Harmukh-Gangabal Yatra from Naranag in Ganderbal district, with Kashmiri Pandits and devotees from different parts of the country participating in the pilgrimage.
Member of Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmad, MLA kangan Mehar Ali, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujeet Kumar, and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir were also present at the flag-off ceremony.
The Lieutenant Governor offered prayers and wished for peace, prosperity and the well-being of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The administration has made elaborate security arrangements along the yatra route and put in place necessary facilities for the devotees. Officials said measures have been taken to ensure the safety and convenience of pilgrims and prevent any inconvenience during the yatra.
The Harmukh-Gangabal Yatra is an annual pilgrimage to Gangabal Lake, located in the Harmukh mountain range of Ganderbal district.
