New Delhi | September, 17: Asserting that India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership has moved beyond mere diplomatic condemnation to security threats, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Thursday that the nation’s anti-terror strategy has undergone a major transformation.
Highlighting the implementation of a strict “zero tolerance” policy, officials noted that key decisive actions have redefined India’s security posture over the past decade. “Abrogation of Article 370, the 2016 surgical strikes, the 2019 Balakot air strikes and Operation Sindoor in 2025 demonstrated India’s willingness to respond decisively to terror attacks,” Shah said, adding, “Under the leadership of Modi ji, the country has witnessed for the first time the policy of ‘zero tolerance’ against terrorism being implemented on the ground.” Reports noted that these military measures—including surgical strikes following Uri, air strikes after Pulwama, and Operation Sindoor launched on May 7, 2025—form the cornerstone of India’s current defense posture. Shah further emphasized that Naxalism has been eradicated, long-standing disputes in the Northeast resolved, and borders fortified, describing national security as the essential foundation for economic and social progress.
