*Baramulla | September 16, : Baramulla Police today conducted a Contingency Response Mock Drill at Railway Station Pattan to assess and strengthen the preparedness, response capabilities and coordination mechanism of police, security and emergency response agencies during a simulated emergency situation. The exercise was conducted under the overall supervision of SP Operations Baramulla and coordinated by DySP Operations Pattan.
The drill involved the active participation of all concerned units and agencies as per their assigned roles and responsibilities. The exercise focused on assessing immediate response, tactical intervention, cordoning and area security, access control, search and sanitization, casualty management, evacuation of passengers, restoration of normalcy, and effective inter-agency communication and coordination.
The participating teams included SDPO Pattan, SOG Pattan, PS Pattan, Column SDPO, OCAPS Pattan, PP Palhallan, SSB 2nd Battalion, 29 RR, RPF/GRP/RPSF, Fire & Emergency Services Pattan, Medical Team Pattan and PSK9 Squad. Each participating unit carried out its designated responsibilities in coordination with other agencies, providing an opportunity to evaluate the overall response mechanism in a coordinated and realistic environment.
The mock drill was conducted successfully and provided a valuable platform to assess operational preparedness, identify areas requiring further improvement and enhance coordination among the participating agencies for an effective response to any unforeseen contingency.
