RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 15: Chief Principal Census Officer (CPCO) and Director, Census Operations, J&K and Ladakh, Amit Sharma, during his visit to Rajouri district, convened a meeting to review the preparations for the District Census Handbook (DCHB) 2027.
During the meeting, District Statistical & Evaluation Officer (DSEO) Sandeep Sharma briefed the CPCO about the progress of self-enumeration and the ongoing training of field functionaries.
Amit Sharma complimented the District Administration and field functionaries for their commendable work during the first phase. He emphasized that the Census is an important national duty and called upon all concerned to undertake the exercise with utmost dedication, accuracy and total focus. He stressed that the second phase is equally important and directed the field functionaries to ensure quality and accurate data collection, proper data analysis and comprehensive coverage of the migratory population.
He underscored the need for meticulous verification and systematic compilation of data so that the Census reflects a reliable and comprehensive demographic profile of the district. He stressed the need to involve schools and colleges in the Census awareness campaign by organizing seminars and awareness programmes.
Amit Sharma said that the students can play an important role in disseminating information about the Census among their families and communities, thereby helping in generating greater awareness and participation in the Census exercise.
The meeting was attended by DC Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma; ADC Rajouri, Ravi Kumar Sihag, ADC Kalakote Mohammad Tanvir, ADC Nowshera Pritam Lal Thapa, ADC Koteranka Dil Mir, ACR Mohammad Jahangir Khan, SDM Thanamandi Abid Hussain Shah and other concerned officers.
