DC Rajouri felicitates National Teachers’ Awardee Mohammad Ayaz Raina

Rajouri| Sept. 12:Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma Saturday felicitated Mohammad Ayaz Raina, Lecturer in Botany, Government Higher Secondary School, Dalhori, who recently received the prestigious National Teachers’ Award 2026 from the President of India DroupadiMurmu, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Congratulating Ayaz Raina on the remarkable achievement, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated his dedicated contribution to the field of education and lauded him for bringing the National Teachers’ Award to Rajouri for the first time. He described the achievement as a matter of immense pride for the entire district and particularly, the PirPanjal region.
The Deputy Commissioner honoured him with a shawl & presented him with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s inspirational book Wings of Fire, recalling the inspiring life and journey of the former President and eminent scientist.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Ravi Kumar Sihag; CPO, Maqsood Ahmed; Chief Education Officer Rajouri, Mohammad Hafiz; and ARTO Ashiq Rafiq Malik were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma expressed hope that Raina’s achievement would inspire other teachers and students of the district to pursue excellence and contribute towards bringing greater recognition to Rajouri at the national level.
He also congratulated Chief Education Officer and Principal Government Higher Secondary School Dalhori Raj Kumar for their support and contribution towards the awardee’s success.
Mohammad Ayaz Raina is also a recipient of the prestigious National ICT Award 2017 and the J&K UT Best Teacher Award 2021. He has received several other appreciations, honours and awards from educational and other organisations for his contributions to teaching, innovation, technology integration and community service.
Expressing his heartfelt gratitude, Ayaz Raina thanked the Deputy Commissioner for the honour, warm reception and encouraging words. He said that the recognition was not merely a personal achievement but a matter of pride for his students, colleagues, institution and the people of Rajouri and PirPanjal.
He expressed hope that this national recognition would motivate more teachers and students from remote and border areas to dream bigger, pursue excellence and work towards bringing greater recognition to Rajouri and the PirPanjal region.
