Srinagar| September 12:, Police on Saturday said that it has seized six tractors involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals across various areas of Shopian district.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that a team from Police Station Zainapora intercepted and seized two tractors operating without royalty documents and also registered case under FIR No. 119/2026. Similarly, Police Station Shopian seized two tractors engaged in illegal extraction and also registered case under FIR No: 190/2026. In a third action, Police Post Wachi intercepted two tractors extracting minerals without mandatory permission and registered case under FIR No: 118/2026 at Police Station Zainapora. In its statement Police urged appealed people to report illegal mining activities, assuring that the identity of informants will remain confidential.
