Srinagar | September, 09: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness generally dry weather over the next few days, with brief spells of rain expected at isolated and scattered places, according to the Meteorological Centre, Srinagar. Officials said the weather department predicts generally dry conditions from September 10 to 12, with a brief spell of rain at isolated places. From September 13 to 16, brief spells of rain or thundershowers are likely at scattered places, particularly during the early morning and forenoon hours, followed by generally dry weather again from September 17 to 20.
The advisory comes as temperatures remain above normal at several places in the Kashmir Valley. Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 31.8 degrees Celsius, which was 3.6 degrees above normal, while Qazigund recorded 31.2 degrees Celsius. In Jammu division, Jammu recorded 33.5 degrees Celsius, while Kathua was the hottest station at 34.4 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Centre has advised farmers to continue harvesting apples and paddy during the prevailing weather conditions and asked the public to follow the latest updates.
