Charar-e-Sharief, September 7, 2026: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Chief Minister Ms. Mehbooba Mufti today visited Charar-e-Sharief to offer her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of late Aftab Ahmed Mir, District Coordinator PDP Budgam, who passed away yesterday following a sudden cardiac arrest.
Mehbooba Mufti expressed deep grief and sorrow over the untimely demise of Aftab Ahmed Mir and conveyed her sympathies to the bereaved family. She prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and for strength and fortitude to the family members to bear the irreparable loss.
She described the deceased as a dedicated and committed worker of the party who remained associated with the PDP and worked sincerely for strengthening the party at the grassroots level. She said his sudden demise has left a deep void among his colleagues, friends and the entire PDP family.
PDP General Secretary Organisation Adv. Gh Nabi Lone Hanjura, District President Budgam Mohd Yaseen Bhat, former MLA Noor Mohammad Sheikh, Party Media Coordinator Bashir Ahmed Beigh, Constituency Incharge Khansahib Manzoor Ahmed Wani, Constituency Incharge Beerwah Haji Gh Ahmad Khan, Zonal President Khansahib Basharat Naseem, Zonal President Central Shalteng Ali Mohammad Baba, Zonal President Chadura Bashir Ahmed, Youth PDP General Secretary Central Kashmir Mir Shahnawaz Ahmad, besides other senior party leaders and workers, were also present on the occasion.
The PDP leadership and workers expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give patience to the family in this hour of profound grief.
