Ganderbal sept 7: A search operation was underway in Thune area of Ganderbal district after a boy and a girl were reportedly seen jumping into a power canal, officials said.
The boy has been identified as Irshad Ahmad Kahi, son of Mohammad Sharif Kahi, a resident of Thune. The identity of the girl has been withheld.
Soon after receiving information about the incident, police and other personnel launched a search operation in and around the canal to trace the two persons.
The circumstances leading to the reported incident were not immediately known.
