Pulwama : Police on Wednesday said that it has seized two vehicles for illegal mining and challaned one in two separate incidents in Pulwama.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that during patrolling at Wahibugh, Romshi Nallah, a party from Police Post Newa alongside the Geology and Mining Department intercepted a tractor carrying illegally extracted boulders, which was subsequently seized and challaned. In a separate action at Petipora Crossing, Police Station Litter intercepted two dumpers (registration numbers JK13K-5811 and JK13J-5811) carrying illegal boulders. Both dumpers were seized, and a case under FIR No. 110/2026 under Sections 303(2) and 324(3) was registered at Police Station Litter. In its statement Police appealed people to report illicit extraction activities to protect natural assets.
