Srinagar : On the eve of Raksha Bandhan Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in their separate greeting messages extended heartfelt wishes to people, highlighting the festival’s deep-rooted values of love, trust, and communal harmony.
In his greeting message Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha described the festival as a sacred celebration of the timeless bond between brothers and sisters. “The sacred thread of rakhi symbolizes unconditional love, affection, and trust,” LG Sinha remarked, expressing hope that the occasion would further deepen the spirit of unity and togetherness across all sections of society.
Echoing similar sentiments, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah called Raksha Bandhan a cherished tradition reflecting responsibility, mutual respect, and family care. Describing the festival as a pillar of the region’s social fabric, CM Abdullah expressed hope that the celebrations would bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to every household while fostering brotherhood across Jammu and Kashmir.
