Ganderbal, August 24: Search operations entered their second consecutive day on Monday to trace the body of nine-year-old Mohammed Mohsin, son of Mukthar Ahmad and a resident of Bamloora, Ganderbal, who reportedly drowned in Nallah Sindh on August 23 near the Fire & Emergency Headquarters, Fatehpora, Ganderbal.
The rescue operation is being carried out jointly by teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) from Battalion Headquarters Srinagar, Ganderbal and Gund, along with local volunteers. Despite continuous efforts since the incident, the body had not been recovered at the time of filing this report.
Rescue personnel are conducting an extensive search along the riverbanks and nearby areas, with operations continuing in the hope of locating the missing child.
Authorities have urged parents and guardians to keep children away from rivers, streams, nallahs, ponds and other water bodies, particularly during periods of high water flow.
Children should never be allowed near such locations without close adult supervision.
The public is requested to exercise extreme caution and follow water-safety precautions to help prevent such tragic incidents.
