Shopian, Baramulla : Police on Saturday said that it has seized 18 vehicles and heavy machinery during routine patrols and night enforcement drives across Shopian and Baramulla.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that teams in Shopian intercepted several vehicles without valid permissions or royalty documents, registering FIR No. 82/2026 at Police Station Heerpora, FIR No. 168/2026 and FIR No. 170/2026 at Police Station Shopian, and FIR No. 108/2026 at PS Zainapora. Meanwhile Baramulla also Police six tippers have been seized for carrying illegally extracted sand in Delina, along with a dumper and a JCB at a dumping yard in Boniyar under the MMDR Act. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to zero-tolerance stance and appealed people to report illegal mining activities.
