Ganderbal : Police on Thursday said that it has seized four tippers involved in the unauthorized extraction and transport of minor minerals in the Kheerbawani area.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Police said that the vehicles were found extracting and transporting mining material without valid authorization, in direct violation of prescribed norms.
The vehicles were impounded on the spot, and the matter was referred to the Geology & Mining Department, which subsequently imposed fines under relevant legal provisions. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to protect local natural resources and action against offenders.
