Srinagar : Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar, today flagged off 250 farmers for a one-day training programme at the Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (CITH), Rangreth.
The programme, organised by the Kisan Advisory Board, J&K, aims to strengthen farmers’ technical capacity and familiarise them with modern, scientific and sustainable agricultural practices.
The participating farmers will interact with agricultural and horticultural experts and scientists and discuss field-level challenges related to crop cultivation.
MLA Lal Chowk Sheikh Ahsan Ahmad Pardesi was also present.
Addressing the farmers, Javid Dar stressed the importance of continuous capacity building and exposure to emerging technologies in agriculture and allied sectors. He said such programmes would provide practical knowledge on improved crop management, judicious use of fertilisers and pesticides, advanced technologies and sustainable farming practices.
The Minister emphasised the need to promote environmentally sustainable and natural farming while improving productivity, quality and profitability.
He urged farmers to interact freely with experts, seek technical guidance and share their field experiences to develop practical and locally relevant solutions.
Director Horticulture Kashmir, Secretary Kisan Advisory Board, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Managing Director JKHPMC, Director J&K Horticulture Marketing and Processing and other senior officers were present.
