Shopian : Police on Wednesday said that it has booked a habitual drug peddler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act, 1988.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that the accused, identified as Irshad Ahmad Khanday of Tharina Kandi Keller, was detained following a order issued by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir based on a detailed dossier submitted by Shopian Police.
Police in its statement further said Khanday a repeat offender involved in multiple narcotics cases has been lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah to prevent further activities posing a threat to public health and vulnerable youth.
