Mother killed, son injured as scooty skids off road in Shopian

Srinagar: A woman died while her son sustained injuries after the scooty they were travelling on skidded off the road in the Amerbugh area of Imam Sahib in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday.
An official said that the woman was travelling as a pillion rider on the scooty being driven by her son when the vehicle skidded off the road at Amerbugh.
He said that the woman sustained critical injuries in the incident and died on the spot, while her son suffered minor injuries.
The deceased was later identified as Saja Banoo, wife of Ghulam Qadir Naikoo, a resident of Kharwara, while her injured son was identified as Shakeel Ahmad Naikoo, son of Ghulam Qadir Naikoo.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and further investigation is underway
