Inaugurates ₹70 Lakh Drinking Water Scheme at Gadod Bagh, Gund Hailmar
Srinagar, 18 Aug: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Women’s Wing President and MLA Habba Kadal Shameema Firdous today reiterated ensuring essential and basic services remains a foremost priority of the Omar Abdullah-led government, with particular focus on clean drinking water, reliable power supply, adequate ration, healthcare, free education and medical treatment.
She made these remarks during a visit to various areas of the Habba Kadal constituency, where she interacted with residents, took stock of local issues and listened to their concerns.
Shameema said that since the people of Jammu and Kashmir entrusted the Omar Abdullah-led government with the responsibility of governance, renewed attention was being given to basic services, public grievances and people-centric development. She said the government was working to ensure that essential facilities reached people at their doorsteps, without discrimination.
During the visit, she inaugurated a drinking water scheme costing around ₹70 lakh at Gadod Bagh, Gund Hailmar, which will provide clean drinking water to nearly 500 residents. The scheme will facilitate water supply from Nishat and Rangil, providing much-needed relief to households that had been facing difficulties in accessing adequate drinking water.
She said several drinking water schemes had already been inaugurated across the Habba Kadal constituency, while a number of other projects were currently under execution to ensure reliable access to clean drinking water for households.
