Judicial institutions reaffirm commitment to Constitution, rule of law & access to justice

Srinagar :The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour across District Court Complexes of Kashmir, where Principal District and Sessions Judges hoisted the National Flag and took salute at ceremonial parades. The celebrations highlighted the sacrifices of freedom fighters and reaffirmed the judiciary’s commitment to constitutional values, rule of law, justice and equal access to legal services.

At Srinagar: At the District Court Complex, Moominabad, Principal District & Sessions Judge and Chairman DLSA Srinagar, Haq Nawaz Zargar, hoisted the Tricolour. Judicial officers, court staff and members of the legal fraternity paid tribute to freedom fighters and reaffirmed their commitment to justice and constitutional values. Sweets were also distributed among police personnel.

At Ganderbal: PD&SJ and Chairman DLSA Ganderbal, Abdul Nasir, hoisted the National Flag at the District Court Complex. Judicial officers, lawyers, DLSA staff and para-legal volunteers participated in the celebrations. The occasion highlighted the importance of access to justice and legal aid for weaker and marginalised sections.

At Anantnag: At the District Court Complex, PD&SJ Tahir Khurshid Raina hoisted the Tricolour and received a Guard of Honour. He paid tribute to freedom fighters and stressed the importance of cooperation between the Bench and Bar for speedy disposal of cases and ensuring access to justice.

At Shopian: PD&SJ and Chairman DLSA Shopian, Mehmood Ahmad Chowdhary, hoisted the National Flag at the District Court Complex. Judicial officers, prosecutors, lawyers, court staff and para-legal volunteers attended the function. Appreciation certificates were presented to outstanding employees, while sweets were distributed among police personnel and participating students.

At Kupwara: PD&SJ Kupwara, Manjeet Singh Manhas, hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the District Court Complex. Judicial officers, members of the Bar, DLSA, prosecution and Traders Federation participated. Similar celebrations were held at Handwara, Sogam and Tangdar Court Complexes.

At Budgam: At the District Court Complex, PD&SJ and Chairman DLSA Budgam, O.P. Bhagat, hoisted the Tricolour and took the ceremonial salute. Judicial officers, prosecutors, lawyers, DLSA staff and para-legal volunteers participated. Similar flag-hoisting ceremonies were held at the Juvenile Justice Board and Taluka Courts.

At Bandipora: DLSA Bandipora and District Judiciary celebrated Independence Day at the New District Court Complex, Kaloosa. PD&SJ and Chairman DLSA Jeema Bashir hoisted the National Flag in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib, SSP Aijaz Ahmad Zargar, judicial officers, lawyers and DLSA functionaries. Similar celebrations were held at Taluka Courts in Sumbal and Gurez.

At Kulgam: At the District Court Complex, PD&SJ and Chairman DLSA Aijaz Ahmed Khan hoisted the National Flag in the presence of judicial officers, prosecutors, members of the Bar and DLSA staff. Appreciation certificates were distributed among judicial employees. Independence Day was also celebrated at the D.H. Pora and Qazigund Court Complexes.

At Baramulla:  At the District Court Complex, Principal District and Sessions Judge Baramulla hoisted the National Flag in the presence of judicial officers, court staff, members of the Bar and other officials. Participants paid tribute to freedom fighters and reaffirmed their commitment to the Constitution, rule of law, justice and equality. The celebrations across the District Courts concluded with a renewed resolve to uphold constitutional values, strengthen access to justice and serve the people with dedication and integrity.
