Ganderbal : The Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) commemorated the 80th Independence Day with a vibrant celebration led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, who hoisted the national flag at the Tulmulla Campus.
The event saw participation from university officials, faculty, staff, research scholars, and students, with a notable march past presented by the Security Wing and Physical Education students. In his address, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath paid tribute to the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and urged the youth to play an active role in shaping a developed and self-reliant India by the year 2047. He emphasized the significance of acquiring life skills, digital and financial literacy, rational thinking, communication, discipline, and integrity. Additionally, he highlighted the increasing importance of Artificial Intelligence, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the modern landscape. The Vice-Chancellor also stressed the necessity of providing quality education and employable skills to the younger generation to effectively leverage India’s demographic dividend. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to NCC volunteers and two students recognized for their exceptional performances.
