Anantnag : The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour at Amarnath Yatra Base Camp, Chandanwari, Pahalgam.
Additional Camp Director Chandanwari Santosh Sharma hoisted the National Flag in the presence of personnel from ITBP, Army, J&K Police, medical teams, SDRF, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board and other agencies deployed for the Yatra.
An impressive ceremonial parade was presented by the participating contingents.
Addressing the gathering, Sharma paid tributes to freedom fighters and appreciated the coordinated efforts of all agencies working for the safety, security and smooth facilitation of pilgrims.
The celebrations concluded with a pledge to uphold national unity and discharge duties with dedication.
