New Delhi: In her message of greeting on 80th Independence Day, President Droupadi Murmu highlighted India’s strong economic momentum as the world’s fastest-growing major economy, projecting a growth rate more than double the global average despite ongoing international instability.
Underlining national self-reliance driven by ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ alongside a foreign policy rooted in peace and national interest, she emphasized key milestones—from decisive action against terrorism via Operation Sindoor and overcoming Naxalism to advancing public examination reforms for youth transparency. President Murmu also reiterated India’s leadership in the Global South, calling for equitable representation in multilateral institutions and a rules-based world order.
Emphasizing inclusive progress on the path toward Viksit Bharat by 2047, the President showcased the upliftment of over 25 crore citizens out of poverty, backed by world-leading digital infrastructure and welfare schemes like ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana’ and ‘Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’. Celebrating women-led development marked by the landmark ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ as well as environmental initiatives like ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and ‘Lifestyle for Environment’, she stressed preserving natural resources for future generations. Grounded in the timeless ideal ‘Vayam Rashtre Jagriyam,’ President Murmu called on the nation to remain steadfastly devoted to national service and sustainable growth.
