Srinagar : Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS) Rawalpora emerged overall champion at the district-level inter-school karate championship organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Srinagar, at the Indoor Hall of GHSS Rawalpora.
Students from schools across the district participated in the championship in different age categories for boys and girls.
GBHSS Rawalpora secured 24 gold medals to emerge as the overall champion.
Principal Shafiqa congratulated the medal winners and appreciated the efforts of the Physical Education Department and coaching staff.
She said participation in sports helps promote fitness, discipline, confidence and a healthy lifestyle among students.
The championship was part of efforts by the Department of Youth Services and Sports to promote sporting talent and competitive opportunities at the grassroots level.
