Srinagar : Police on Monday said it has seized 33 vehicles and heavy machinery for unauthorized extraction and transportation of minor minerals across Ganderbal, Shopian, Pulwama, Baramulla, and Sopore police districts.
In a statement issued here Police said that vehicles seized included 8 vehicles in Ganderbal, 3 tractors in Shopian (FIR registered), 10 JCB machines in Pulwama, and multiple tippers and tractors in Baramulla and Sopore. Cases have been registered under relevant laws, including the MMDR Act, and several seized vehicles were handed over to the Geology & Mining Department for further action.
