Baramulla, August 8: As part of its ongoing security measures and efforts to ensure strict compliance with prescribed guidelines, Baramulla Police conducted a surprise inspection of SIM vendors in Pattan on Saturday.
A Police spokesperson said that During the inspection, compliance with prescribed Know Your Customer (KYC) norms, maintenance of requisite records, and adherence to applicable guidelines was thoroughly checked.
The vendors were briefed and directed to ensure proper documentation, verification of customer credentials, and strict adherence to prescribed procedures during the issuance and activation of SIM cards.
J&K Police reiterated that strict compliance with KYC norms is essential to prevent misuse of SIM cards and strengthen public safety and security.
