QCI-sponsored prog   highlights benefits of NABL accreditation

Srinagar  :  The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar recently hosted a one-day workshop titled “NABL Accreditation and its Benefits” as part of the NABL Gunvatta Yatra initiative, in collaboration with the Quality Council of India (QCI).

The program aimed to educate Heads of Departments, laboratory in-charges, faculty, and technical staff about the significance of laboratory accreditation in enhancing research quality and technical competence. The workshop, sponsored by QCI, emphasized the NABL accreditation process and the advantages of adhering to internationally recognized quality standards. Key presentations were delivered by Dr. Bhumi Rajyaguru from NABL and Mr. Sidhant Trivedi from NBQP, who discussed essential topics such as the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements, laboratory documentation, quality management systems, and the accreditation process. Prof. RoohieNaaz, Dean of Research and Consultancy, highlighted the critical role of accredited laboratories in bolstering the credibility of scientific research and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The event was part of a broader initiative aimed at encouraging institutions and industries to enhance their quality management systems through accreditation. Experts at the workshop noted that NABL accreditation not only improves the reliability and accuracy of testing and calibration services but also boosts customer confidence and ensures compliance with international standards. The program outlined its objectives, which included clarifying the importance of NABL accreditation, familiarizing participants with accreditation criteria, and addressing queries related to integrating accreditation into laboratory quality frameworks. Faculty members engaged actively in discussions, gaining insights into practical aspects of laboratory accreditation and quality documentation.
