Says “NC Committed To Legal, Political Struggle for J&K Statehood Restoration”
Srinagar: National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Thursday reaffirmed his party’s stance against the August 5, 2019 constitutional changes in Jammu and Kashmir, declaring them unconstitutional and asserting that the nation stands united with their cause.
Talking to reporters in Srinagar, Dr. Farooq stated, “National Conference’s struggle for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood will continue,” while asserting that the public nationwide recognizes the unconstitutionality of the decision. When pressed by reporters to comment on controversial remarks allegedly made by BJP MP Giriraj Singh regarding PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, the veteran leader firmly declined to engage, stating, “I am not going to answer any questions about Mehbooba Mufti.”
